Fact-check rating labels and their definitions

This table lists the verdict labels that fact-checkers publish, one row per label, with the definition each organisation gives. Definitions are short paraphrases of the organisation's own method page. PolitiFact uses six ratings from True to Pants on Fire 1. Africa Check uses named verdicts 2. The EFCSN Code asks members to publish any rating system they use 5, so the same label can mean different things at different outlets.
